I've never used the platform before and was under the impression I could dispute a project if the work was not completed to my satisfaction. It is clear this freelancer had no intention of completing the project the way I wanted and did not initiate contact through the platform itself. I was reimbursed only for the last week's payment, though I received no value at all from the contract.

Do not hire this developer. Often went days without answering emails, gave no notice when he went over budget and missed the deadline, and delivered a useless product that did not match the project description a week late. I ended the contract and was partially refunded. Will need to seek someone more competent to complete the project.
