Senior Web Engineer

I'm a Senior Web Developer with 10 years of experience and worked in a Java/JBoss/Tiles stack to configure and build HTML pages using JSP templates. Used a Jira/Kan Ban system to implement features, and resolve defects on tight deadlines. Participated on a committee to evaluate and select an enterprise level CMS for the company. Developed a custom JSP tag library, and a JSON form configuration schema that templatized form elements. This framework allowed our team to rapidly develop signup forms for A/B testing, while also improving code quality, and reducing the cost of maintenance. Developed the first responsive pages on the site that included high traffic, mission critical pages. Worked closely with external teams to develop small and large scale applications with HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript dependencies. Involved in multiple roles, with both front-end, and server-side responsibilities. Maintained and developed HTML/CSS pages from photoshop mockups in an environment that demanded quick turn around. Implemented a contest entry framework using PHP, and MySQL. The framework was used to deliver monthly promotional contests to our audience of approximately one hundred thousand mailing list members. Helped to improve the site codebase by converting old table based layouts to semantic HTML. Reduced the file size of pages across the board, which lead to decreased bandwidth costs for the company, and faster load times for an audience that included one million monthly unique visitors.
